Tale Of A Vampire (1992), Shimako Sato

***

Minimalistic and yet fascinating take on the ever popular vampire genre. The stoic, some say one look-Sands makes one of his best roles (prob due to the fact that he doesn't have to speak a lot) as a ancient vampire seeking redemption in contemporary London. The minimalism in this movie works perfectly when building up atmosphere but some of the acting performances seem to be really fake and wooden-like.

Nevertheless, a wortwhile see for those fan of Sands (also one can imagine why Rice wanted Sands to be Lestat and ponder after this, was Cruise a better choice or not) and vampire stories in general.
